Watts to amps converter
Amps = watts ÷ volts, and watts = amps × volts. Type in any box and the others update. Add hours to get kWh, or switch to battery mode for Ah and Wh.

Formulas
- Amps = watts ÷ volts
- Watts = amps × volts
- kWh = watts × hours ÷ 1,000
- Wh = Ah × volts
A 15 A, 120 V circuit carries up to 1,800 W, and 1,440 W for loads that run three hours or more (the 80% rule). That's why most space heaters stop at 1,500 W. AC motors also have a power factor below 1, so their real amps can run a little higher than watts ÷ volts. More in watts, amps and volts explained.
